WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO BE QUEER?
LESBIAN

There is an unspoken strength amongst us, characterised by the rejection of society’s expectations for what women should be.

GAY

"a person who is gay is attracted to people of the same gender as them"

BISEXUAL

"Bisexuality is a whole, fluid identity"

TRANSGENDER

"I’m not ashamed of being transgender. I will never be ashamed."

QUEER

"What I am sure of is that, being queer to me, finally allows myself to stop fighting with who I am."

QUESTIONING

"It’s ok to say that you’re questioning your sexuality or gender, you are not
obliged to put a label on how you feel."

INTERSEX

"unbroken and unornamented, symbolising wholeness and completeness, and our potentialities"

ASEXUAL

"It's simple to me; I don't
feel sexual attraction, and I never have."

PANSEXUAL

"I can and have seen beauty in, been attracted to and fallen for people of all genders."

NON-BINARY

"As a label I find it comforting, and non-restrictive, like metaphorical baggy t-shirt!"

GENDERQUEER

"it was something that I slowly realised over years of not feeling like I fit in and it took me a while to discover the name of what it was."

COMING OUT

"Coming out is different for everyone, and there are different processes we take to get there."
